THE OBJECT
The first edition. Reconstructed.
The 1897 first edition of Dracula appeared in yellow cloth with red lettering. This independently produced edition recreates its historical book design through modern materials and production methods, informed by study of surviving copies.
This is a modern facsimile reconstruction, not an original 1897 antique, and not a decorative leather rebind. The word “first edition” identifies the historic edition that serves as the reference.

What makes this different?
Most contemporary collector editions reinterpret the book through newly designed covers or modern gothic illustration. This project starts with the physical identity of the 1897 Constable edition: its proportions, typography, materials, binding and printed page architecture.
The goal is a historically informed reconstruction, not a claim of manufacturing an antique book with original nineteenth-century techniques.
